Social Ministry

We have been blessed so that we can be a blessing.

Cape May Lutheran Church partners with several area churches to help those in our community who are in need.

The Cape May Food Pantry

Located at the First Presbyterian Church of Cape May, 500 Hughes Ave., Cape May, the Food Pantry is open on the second and fourth Fridays from 9-10:30 a.m.  Applicants must show proof of residency in Cape May, West Cape May, Cape May Point or North Cape May.

Family Promise of Cape May County

The mission of Family Promise is to keep homeless families together during their time of crisis by providing safe shelter and meals in congregational facilities, and to provide support services needed to educate, encourage, and empower these families in their quest to re-establish their individual pride and independence.  We provide meals for the families at the Family Promise Center.

Stewardship of Creation

We have the biggest backyard in Cape May City- Sewell Point- a large freshwater wetland that is mostly owned by the City of Cape May but which is partly owned by our church. We have set aside our portion of the wetland as a National Wildlife Federation refuge. Our pastor is a proud member of the Cape May City "Green Team". Cape May City was honored with the Small Municipality Champion Award from Sustainable Jersey and was awarded "silver" status.

Plant Pure Nation

We encourage whole food plant based eating at Cape May Lutheran for your own personal health and for the health of our planet.  We normally meet once each month but have suspended our meetings during the pandemic.
